Summer seems like a distant memory now that the Winter has set in, so what better time to reflect back on one of our favourite events this summer – the Henley Festival.
We had the pleasure of looking after Pandemonium – the drummers and working men & women who performed at the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics. They played each night at the Henley Festival as part of the evening Spectacle to the sound of the fireworks going off behind them. A very moving and powerful performance and lovely to see them getting so involved in the Festival spirit. Many of them were volunteers who now find themselves part of a wonderful community who travel the countryside performing at a variety of different events.

Everywhere you looked there was a bit of elegant sparkle, with stunning Crystal chandeliers hung from the trees in the garden, to the crystal cut t-light holders on the mirror top tables. Even the flower vases of beautiful white hydrangeas had a bit of a sparkle effect.
Subtle influences from Africa provided the backdrop for a clients 50th birthday party in the grounds of their home in Hertfordshire for their 170 guests.
A CD player with animal noises was hidden in the bushes so that guests were greeted by roaring lions and babbling baboons – which caused a few laughs not to mention a few surprised looks!
On entering the marquee, Moroccan canapés and bowl food circulated early on, followed by little cubes of the fabulous African cake for midnight munchies.
Martini’s were shaken not stirred as guests dressed to thrill at a client’s 40th birthday party at their home in Buckinghamshire.
155 guests were treated to a sit down dinner followed by live band (IPOP) and DJ (DJ Suleman) where they partied into the small hours.
007 lighting effects (Lightech) were projected onto the façade of the house and marquee floor. Diamonds (sadly not real ones) were scattered on the canapés and tables. A Golden bullet (a quails egg in disguise with gold leaf) were a real talking point as were the shortbread revolvers on the champagne & Ferrero Roche mousse dessert.
